This shirtdress made me squeal with delight, as strawberries might be the sweetest thing ever, and this pattern does not disappoint. It’s light enough for summer, and I sized up purposely to be able to add layers under the dress for cooler seasons, but I am obsessed with oversized clothing, and there is no need to size up unless you want to! As with all CU clothing (thanks to inclusive and custom sizing), actually having the option to choose sizing based on how I want the garment to fit (vs making the best of limited size options) is exhilarating.

This was the first thing I ever bought from Copper Union and I love it so much! I saw #1 goddess Ijeoma Oluo wearing it and was like "I NEED THAT NOW" so I made it happen. The great thing about this dress is that you can dress it up or down - I work in an office and if I pair it with leggings, boots and a cardigan it's totally work appropriate. However, if you're going out to run errands you can totally just throw it on with some sneakers & be good to go. It's a lightweight material, which I also like since it means I can wear it pretty much year round. I got it in a size 2 - my bust is 50" so it needed to fit over them, and it does. There's no stretch in this dress, so keep that in mind! That being said, Claire does the "sit test" with all her clothes, so I can comfortably sit down while I'm wearing this and it's not super tight. Highly recommend!

Every time I wear this strawberry dress it makes me feel the happiness of picking strawberries in the summer. It’s a light and airy fabric that is well-constructed. Easy to move and sit in, I feel confident in this dress.

I have this shirt dress in a different fabric (Pink Moth!!) and I absolutely love it. I wear it as is with tights and tennis shoes for a super casual look. I've also dressed it up with a black obi belt, some heeled booties and some big flashy earrings and that worked too. I hugged Leslie Jordan in this dress. Even he said to me, "Honey this fabric is remarkable..." which left me dead. If America's favorite gay man loves it, it's got to be right. This cut -- the shirt dress is really great. It works well in seated positions unlike other dresses that get tight all of the sudden and make you feel trapped. I hate feeling like I have to stand all night to feel great. This dress is great. GET ONE.
